Facilities for All

Food and Drink

The Little Owl Farm Park café offers a range of hot and cold food all served within a large comfortable seating area.

This is the place to unwind and relax a little, before setting off for more fun and exploring!

We have a selection of meals to suit dietary requirements, these change subject to availability so please check our daily specials boards on the day of your visit.

Our cafe provides high chairs and is wheelchair and pushchair accessible.

Opening times may vary seasonally, dependent on closure time.

Picnic Area

You are more than welcome to bring along a picnic which you can enjoy in our picnic area. Please help us to keep the Farm Park clean by putting all rubbish in the bins provided. Picnics are not permitted in the Café area.

We have lots of outdoor picnic tables available for our visitors to use, the majority can be found on our tarmac or concreted areas. We also have picnic tables behind our Bouncy Pillows, which are on our grass bank.

We also have an indoor picnic area, which is located in our Pedal Tractor Barn. This area also includes a water fountain for refilling water bottles.

Accessible Toilets & Baby Changing Facilities

Accessible toilet facilities are located in key areas of the park. You can find them located next to our Soft Play Area.

NEW FOR SUMMER 2024 – Our disabled toilet facilities in the Small Soft Play area now has an electrically controlled medical bed, offering changing facilities for older children/visitors.

Our baby changing facilities are located in both the ladies and disabled toilets.

Parking

All parking at the Farm Park is free. We have three car parking areas on site. Our main car park is tarmacked, with allocated disabled parking and marked out parking spaces which are wider than standard parking bays. Our two overflow car parks are on a grassed field, with hardcore in some areas.

Disabled parking spaces are located on our main car park near the front of our building. We recommend visitors with limited mobility booking a time slot between 10am – 11am during the school holidays/bank holidays to secure a parking space on our tarmacked car park. We recommend this due to our overflow car parks being on grassed paddocks.

Visually Impaired Visitors & Learning Disabilities

The parks building and outdoor signage has been designed with visually impaired visitors and those with learning disabilities in mind, with larger fonts being used and the majority include the shape of the animal/area that the sign relates to.

Hearing Impaired

To cater for hearing impaired visitors, Makaton signs for the animals are displayed in some areas of the farm.

Allergies

All of our food is prepared on-site in a kitchen that handles wheat, dairy and nuts.

For information about ingredients please ask a member of our catering team.

Accessibility

Pushchair access

All areas of the Farm Park are pushchair accessible.

For visitors with disabilities, limited mobility and wheelchair users

Persons registered as disabled and blue badge holders are offered concessionary entry rates.

Disabled visitors requiring a Carer to assist them during their visit can also purchase a concessionary ticket.

Wheelchair Users

The building area and main car park is accessible for wheelchair users, with tarmacked and concrete paths available throughout. Wheelchair users may experience difficulties in our Top Field/Paddock areas during periods of continued poor weather conditions, however, we are in the process of adding walkways to the Top Fields to offer better accessibility to all of our visitors. We expect this to be completed by Winter 2024.  If you are unsure, please contact our reception team who will be able to confirm this for you.

Our Petting & Pig Barns have been designed to make them accessible to all. Our Pig Barn has a raised walkway allowing visibility to the animals with lower walls. The walkways are also concreted and offer a sturdy and level surface. Our Petting Barn also has lower walls allowing visitors to see and feed our animals more easily.

NEW FOR 2024 – Wheelchair users can now enjoy our Tractor & Trailer rides, as our new trailer includes a wheelchair lift. Please note our tractor and trailer rides run throughout the Spring/Summer on weekends and the school holidays, however, this activity is weather dependent.

Assistance Dogs

The following policy has been created with reference to BIAZA Advice Regarding Admittance of Assistance Dogs to Zoos and Aquariums. (Correct as of March 2025).

Visitors are welcome to bring their assistance dogs with them when they visit our site. We recognise the benefits of visiting such attractions for people with disabilities and specific requirements. However, we do not wish for any stress or harm to come to your companion or our animals so there will be some conditions to follow during your visit.

Your assistance dog must be suitably trained, well behaved and kept on a short lead providing optimal control by the handler at all times during your visit. Due to the likelihood of crowds and unpredictable movement of children, extendable leads are not permitted.

Little Owl Farm Park recognises that the law does not require an assistance dog to wear a harness or jacket to identify it as an assistance dog, however, if your dog does have a harness or jacket, then we ask that it is worn during your visit so staff and other visitors can identify you quickly during an event where you might require additional assistance.

If you feel that either your dog or one of our animals is distressed by the presence of your dog, then please move to another area. Please note that if any of our staff identify an issue, they may also ask you to move away from that particular area. Please do not allow your assistance dog to get too close to animal enclosures. A distance of at least 2 metres will help keep our animals and your dog calm.

Several areas on our site have been identified as unsuitable areas for assistance dogs:

  • Petting & Demo Barn
  • Meerkat Enclosure
  • The Fox Den
  • All indoor soft play areas (however, the seating areas are suitable)

Depending on individual capabilities, it may be appropriate for a carer to wait with the assistance dog outside of the above listed areas whilst the handler visits the area. We do not recommend leaving assistance dogs with staff members outside of one of these areas as this could cause stress to the assistance dog.

Animals must not be left tied-up in our car parks or left unattended in vehicles on hot days. The police will be contacted if the car park attendant identifies any animal in distress. Please ensure that you bring enough water, snacks etc. for your dog for the duration of your visit. Water bowls can be filled by staff upon request. We recommend visiting our reception area if you need water for your water bowl.

Your assistance dog must be in good health prior to your visit. Please do not bring your dog if they have shown any sign of sickness or diarrhoea in the 24 hours before your visit.

Dog fouling is a hazard to our visitors and animals. Please ensure you bring waste bags with you for your visit. If you are able, please clean up after your dog. Please alert a staff member immediately if you are unable to clean up after your dog. If you are unable to locate a member of staff nearby, please contact our reception team on 07732 762360.

For the welfare of your dog and our animals, your assistance dog must have lived in the UK for over

6 months and be fully up to date on all vaccinations.

In the unlikely event that an assistance dog becomes aggressive towards our animals or staff/visitors then the owner will be asked to leave site immediately.

Emotional support animals do not have the same legal recognition within the UK as assistance dogs and are therefore not permitted anywhere on our site.

If you wish to discuss this policy further, please contact our reception team on 01905 620325.
