While other mammals glide, Bats are the only mammals capable of continued flight! They are also nocturnal creatures, using a special skill called echolocation, which allows them to navigate in the dark.

Bees have two tummies, one for eating and the other holds their special nectar that is collected from flowers! Also, if a worker bee uses its stinger it will die.

There are over 10,000 living species of bird on Earth, they live on all continents including the Arctic and Antarctica! Birds also range in size, from the 2 inch Bee Hummingbird to the Ostrich which can grow to 9 feet tall!



Did you know? the Fox is a distant relative of the Wolf!
A Fox can run up to 30 miles per hour and hide food to eat later on. Foxes eat almost anything, including Berries, Worms, Spiders and even jam sandwiches!



Hedgehogs are nocturnal animals and sleep in a nest or under bushes before searching for food in the night. When out at night, hedgehogs communicate through snuffles, grunts and squeals.



In this woodland habitat, there are many insects including: Woodlice, Millipedes, Centipedes, Ladybirds, Ants and you may even catch a glimpse of some Dragonflies visiting from the Pond area!



Rabbits live in groups, usually underground in burrows. They have long ears (can be as long as 10cm) and have a lifespan of around 2-6 years! Rabbits also use their front legs for digging and their hind legs for speed and power.
